6 Vegan Options at Pei Wei in 2022

Pei Wei Asian Diner is an American fast causal restaurant chain serving Pan Asian fare in more than 200 U.S. and 6 international locations according to WikipediaAs with many Asian dining establishments, Pei Wei has a good selection of vegan friendly menu items. In this article we look at the 6 best vegan options at Pei Wei in 2022.

As reported by the Vegetarian Resource Group, Pei Wei does not claim any of their dishes as vegan friendly as all product due to some experience cross contamination. Pei Wei states, “At Pei Wei, we understand that there are varying degrees of vegetarian and vegan diets, so we adhere to the strictest standard when labeling something vegan. While dishes marked vegetarian have no meat or animal byproducts in them, many vegans do not eat sugar because it is processed using animal bones, so we wouldn’t consider a dish with sugar in it to be vegan. We also use honey – made from the toil of bees, and therefore not considered vegan – in our Teriyaki sauce. For those types of reasons, we claim a vegetarian status on most of our dishes rather than vegan.”

It should also be noted that, “meat and tofu are prepared on the same surfaces with the same utensils but everything is sanitized between uses (i.e., meat and tofu are prepared separately in a rotation on the same, sanitized surfaces with sanitized utensils and cookware between use).” Therefore, some additional cross contamination with meat of seafood products could occur if proper sanitation doesn’t occur. If you have allergens, it would be best to avoid Pei Wei.

The following are all of the menu items stated to be vegan by Approved EatsReal Menu PricesCruelty Free Reviews, and Pei Wei’s nutrition and allergen guide. Pei Wei’s whole menu can be viewed here.
